<p>
	So far, users can access WhatsApp on a laptop or computer using the WhatsApp Desktop application. But secretly WhatsApp is preparing a new application for Windows that looks more beautiful.
</p>

<p>
	Twitter user @ALumia_Italia reported details about this WhatsApp for Windows app. This application is made using the Universal Windows Platform (UWP) so it is compatible for Windows 10, Windows 11 and Xbox, as quoted from WABetaInfo, Wednesday (17/11/2021).
</p>

<p>
	This new WhatsApp application has a different look to WhatsApp Desktop. The design is made semi-transparent with the dominance of white and gray.
</p>

<p>
	This application also supports multi-device features, so it can be used independently without having to connect to a cellphone. Notifications of incoming messages will still be displayed even if the application is closed.
</p>

<p>

<p>
	The good news is that the WhatsApp for Windows application can be downloaded via the Microsoft Store. This application is still in beta stage, so there are some features that are not yet available such as archives, stickers, status, and dark mode.
</p>

<p>
	But the settings feature offered is quite complete, from notification settings to privacy. In the chat column there is also a new drawing pad feature that allows users to doodle directly on the screen.
</p>

<p>
	If you have trouble finding the WhatsApp application for Windows on the Microsoft Store, you can directly download it via <strong><a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/whatsapp-beta-wbi/9nbdxk71nk08" rel="external nofollow">the following link</a></strong>. This link will direct you to the Microsoft site and you can download the application via the Microsoft Store, so don't worry about the authenticity of the source.
</p>

<p>
	After the installation process is complete, you must connect the application to your WhatsApp account by opening the WhatsApp application on your cellphone and selecting the Linked Devices option, then scanning the QR code on the Windows device screen.
</p>

<p>
	After scanning the QR code on the screen, your WhatsApp chats will be synced, and the WhatsApp for Windows application can be used.
</p>

<p>
	In addition to applications for Windows, WhatsApp is also preparing a special application for MacOS. According to WABetaInfo information, this application will have the same appearance as the WhatsApp application for iPad but with an improved interface.

	Often receive annoying WhatsApp chats but are reluctant to block the contact? Don't worry because WhatsApp has a feature that can hide chats without blocking contacts.
</p>

<p>
	WhatsApp recently released a new archive feature that allows users to hide chats and silence notifications for good. So this feature will be very useful for those of you who, for example, often receive annoying messages from your ex-girlfriend.
</p>

<p>
	Before this feature existed, archived WhatsApp chats would return to the main inbox if they received a new message. With this new feature, archived chats will still be stored in the Archived folder even if they receive new messages.
</p>

<p>
	You also won't receive notifications if a message arrives in an archived chat, unless you're mentioned or your message is replied to in the group.
</p>

<p>
	Without further ado, here's how to hide annoying WhatsApp chats without blocking contacts:
</p>

<ul><li>
		Open the WhatsApp application and select the contact or group you want to hide.
	</li>
	<li>
		On Android, tap and hold and then tap the Archive icon which shows a box with an arrow at the top right of the app.
	</li>
	<li>
		On iOS, just swipe left or tap and hold on the contact you want to hide and select the Archive option.
	</li>
	<li>
		Chats will be directly stored in the Archived folder permanently and will not display notifications if there are messages that come in.
	</li>
</ul><p>
	To access chats that have been hidden, you just need to open the Archived folder at the top of the WhatsApp home page for Android or iOS. There you can see a list of archived contacts and groups.
</p>

<p>
	WhatsApp also provides an option to restore chats from the Archived folder to the main inbox. To do this, open the Archives folder, tap and hold the contact or group you want to restore, then tap the Archive icon in the upper right corner.
</p>

<p>
	You can also still use the old-fashioned archive feature where archived chats can return to your main inbox when you receive a new message. The trick is to open the settings menu in the WhatsApp application, select the Chat option, then turn off the 'Keep chats archived' toggle.
</p>

	WhatsApp will soon withdraw its support for Android and older iOS starting next year. Some cellphones are also threatened that they can no longer use this messaging application.
</p>

<p>
	WhatsApp always asks its users to update their devices with the latest operating system in order to enjoy the best experience. They recently updated the FAQ on their official website about which operating systems will be supported in 2021.
</p>

<p>
	Quoted from Livemint, Sunday (20/12/2020) WhatsApp can only be used on mobile phones with the Android 4.0.3 operating system or the latest. As for the iPhone, only devices running iOS 9 or later can enjoy WhatsApp.
</p>

<p>
	Some phones that still use Android versions below 4.0.3, such as the HTC Desire, LG Optimus Black, Motorola Droid Razr and Samsung Galaxy S2 are threatened with being unable to use WhatsApp.
</p>

<p>
	IPhone models that can no longer use WhatsApp are the iPhone 4 and previous generations. IPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6, and 6S users must update their phones to iOS 9 or later to continue enjoying WhatsApp. IPhone 6 and 6S users can update their devices to the latest iOS 14 version.
</p>

<p>
	Apart from the two operating systems above, WhatsApp can still be used on certain cellphones with the Kai OS 2.5.1 or later operating system, including JioPhone and JioPhone 2.
</p>

<p>
	WhatsApp added that there is currently no option to transfer chat history between platforms, such as from iOS to Android and vice versa. But they do provide an option to export chat history as an email attachment.
</p>

<p>
	To find out the operating system version on your Android phone, you can check it by opening the Settings application then looking for the About menu which is usually at the very bottom. If the version you are using is 4.0.3 or later, WhatsApp can still be used.
</p>

<p>
	For iPhone users, you can check the iOS version used by opening Settings, then General and selecting the About option. If the version shown is iOS 9 or later, WhatsApp will still receive support next year.
</p>

<p>
	Every year WhatsApp always stops its support for legacy cellphones and operating systems. Starting early in 2021, WhatsApp will no longer be able to be used on phones running Android 2.3.7 and below, as well as iPhones running iOS 8 and below.

	Qualcomm recently demonstrated the performance of the Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform through a series of synthetic benchmark tests.
</p>

<p>
	It only means measuring some aspects of usage and not capturing other broad experiences, such as connectivity, photography, videography, audio, battery life and charging speed, etc.
</p>

<p>
	Each benchmark was run on the Snapdragon 888 reference design and the score was an average of the three trials. All benchmark measurements are run using the default rules in the Snapdragon 888 reference design, which are recommended to strike a balance between performance and power consumption for users' everyday use.
</p>

<p>
	Here are the results:
</p>

<table align="center" style="background-color:#ffffff; border-collapse:collapse; border-spacing:0px;font-size:12px; text-align:center"><tbody><tr><td style="border:none; padding:0px; vertical-align:top">
				<div align="center" style="color:#999999; font-size:12px; text-align:center">

						<img alt="Qualcomm" style="border:0px none; vertical-align:middle" title="Qualcomm" width="315" src="https://akcdn.detik.net.id/community/media/visual/2020/12/19/qualcomm.jpeg?w=1280" loading="lazy" height="157.5"><span style="border-bottom:1px">Qualcomm Photo: special</span>
					</div>
				</div>
			</td>
		</tr></tbody></table><p>
	<br>
	To note, Snapdragon 888 brings a significant architectural improvement. The Mobile Platform is designed using the most advanced 5nm process technology, enabling the latest in performance with superior power efficiency.
</p>

<p>
	The Qualcomm Kryo 680 CPU delivers a performance increase of up to 25% on the overall CPU, compared to the previous generation and enables the highest frequency up to 2.84GHz. The Qualcomm AdrenoTM GPU achieves a performance boost, bringing graphics rendering up to 35%, faster than the previous generation.
</p>

<p>
	Responding to OEM input, the Adreno 660 GPU is specifically designed to provide flexible and more powerful power for a gaming phone with more advanced heat regulating capabilities or a larger thermal envelope for other sustainable use on flagship devices. Each OEM can select the optimal operating aspect for their device design.
</p>

<p>
	The sixth generation Qualcomm AI Engine embedded completely redesigned with the latest Qualcomm Hexagon 780 processor can deliver up to 26 TOPS, a 73% increase over the previous generation resulting in industry-leading AI performance, which also increases power efficiency up to three times stronger than the previous generation.

	Until now, the weakness of Android compared to iOS is the availability of operating system updates, where most Android phones only get updates 2-3 years after release.
</p>

<p>
	Meanwhile for iOS, as long as the hardware is still supported, Apple will continue to provide OS updates. This is what Google is trying to solve by releasing Project Treble in 2017, and now they are still trying to improve the availability of Android updates.
</p>

<p>
	Google had to collaborate with Qualcomm, and recently they announced that Android phones using Snapdragon chips will receive up to three operating system updates, also making it easier for cellphone makers to provide OS updates.
</p>

<p>
	Especially for phones with Snapdragon 888, Google and Qualcomm promise to have updates for up to four years since the cellphone was released, both Android operating system updates and security patches.
</p>

<p>
	According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 888 is the first chip to support the update in four years. But in the future it will also be supported by the upcoming Qualcomm chip, although it is not clear whether it is only for high-end chips, or also for middle and lower chips such as the Snapdragon 4 and 6 series.
</p>

<p>
	But keep in mind, this collaboration is only between Google and Qualcomm. Meanwhile, the party that played a major role in presenting the update was, of course, the cellphone manufacturer.
</p>

<p>
	This kind of collaboration seems to be needed by Google, because they only develop Android in terms of the operating system, while the matter of hardware is held by companies like Qualcomm, and of course cellphone manufacturers.
</p>

<p>
	Unlike Apple, which worked on everything by themselves, both software and hardware. This gives Apple complete control over the devices they make.

	Instagram has just announced two new features in an effort to help combat misinformation news related to COVID-19.
</p>

<p>
	Users located in areas with increasing cases of Corona will see a notification link to the local health authority at the top of the bait and anyone looking for COVID-19 vaccine information will also be directed to a reliable source of health information.
</p>

<p>
	Reporting from <em>The Verge</em>, Instagram's new steps to ward off Corona hoaxes will also block hashtags containing false information about vaccines.
</p>

<p>
	These features come as many social media platform companies are also taking action to prevent the spread of misinformation about the Corona virus and the COVID-19 vaccine.
</p>

<p>
	Facebook as the parent company of Instagram has launched a feature to limit false information, then sends notifications to users when interacting with posts related to hoax information.
</p>

<p>
	YouTube has also started adding notices to videos about the pandemic by linking to trusted sources such as the CDC and WHO, the same organizations used by Instagram.
</p>

<p>
	In addition, the Twitter they announced recently would remove misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine.
