Instagram has just announced two new features in an effort to help combat misinformation news related to COVID-19.

Users located in areas with increasing cases of Corona will see a notification link to the local health authority at the top of the bait and anyone looking for COVID-19 vaccine information will also be directed to a reliable source of health information.

Reporting from The Verge, Instagram's new steps to ward off Corona hoaxes will also block hashtags containing false information about vaccines.

These features come as many social media platform companies are also taking action to prevent the spread of misinformation about the Corona virus and the COVID-19 vaccine.

Facebook as the parent company of Instagram has launched a feature to limit false information, then sends notifications to users when interacting with posts related to hoax information.

YouTube has also started adding notices to videos about the pandemic by linking to trusted sources such as the CDC and WHO, the same organizations used by Instagram.

In addition, the Twitter they announced recently would remove misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine.
